The Bruins have officially announced that Niklas Svedberg has been signed to an entry level contract. He's a 22 year old goalie from Sweden. For those who are not familar with Svedberg, he played in the Elitserien league since 2009, but was loaned out to Mora of the Allsvenskan league during the 2010-2011 season. Here's a break down of his stats:  Regular Season League Team Games Played GAA SV% Shutouts 2009-2010 Elitserien MODO 32 2.59 .901 N/A 2010-2011 Elitserien Brynäs 21 2.28 .917 N/A 2010-2011 Allsvenskan Mora 2 2.50 .932 N/A 2011-2012 Elitserien Brynäs 29 2.40 .915 N/A Svedberg only played in the playoffs once for Brynäs, during the 2011-2012 season. In 13 games he posted a 1.70 GAA and a SV% of .947. Those are some pretty good ******* stats right there. This could mean the end of Tim Thomas in Boston. No, I don't mean that Svedberg is going to come up and play right away, but it co...

Tyler Seguin Gets New Half-Sleeve Tattoo of Family Members' Birthdates (Photo)

Tyler Seguin wasn't able to get another Stanley Cup Champions tattoo this summer, but that didn't stop the Bruins sniper from getting new ink. Seguin recently tweeted a photo of his new half-sleeve tattoo, saying, "Dad always told me to wear my heart on my sleeve so there's a heart with bdates of my family connecting to my seguin tattoo." Check out the new tat...

Tyler Seguin Gets A New (Half Sleeve) Tattoo

A.B. All I can make out is 61. 65. 95. The rest of this tattoo, including what it even is, is a complete mystery. Are those Seguin’s jersey numbers growing up? Are they the code to the Bruins dressing room? I’m going to tweet to Segs directly and hope for an update shortly… Seguin's New Shoulder Tattoo Seguin Tattoo On Left (function(d, s, id) { var js, fjs = d.getElementsByTagName...

Mike Mottau Enjoyed Return to Hometown, Could Be Valuable Veteran Insurance If Re-Signed by Bruins

Editor's Note: The Bruins are facing a longer offseason than they had hoped after their title defense was ended early with a first-round loss to Washington. The extra time could come in handy though, as the Bruins have plenty of decisions to make this summer. At the top of that list is what they will do with the many pending free agents on their roster. Each day over the next...

Bruins Sign Niklas Svedberg to Add to Organization's Goaltending Depth

The Bruins have made a goaltending move. But instead of trading away from their position of strength, they have added another netminder to the fold. Boston announced on Tuesday that Niklas Svedberg has been signed to an entry-level contract. Svedberg, 22, is a native of Sollentuna, Sweden and played the last two seasons with Brynas IF Gavle in the Swedish Elite League (SEL). The...

Better late than never

In full off-season mode. Also, holiday weekend, so we're kinda behind on our news reporting. Good thing we're not like real reporters or that'd be super embarrassing. Whew.First off: Bruins were named Team of the Year by SportsBusinessJournal, a publication that 98% of the people reading this probably never has read. According to CSNNE.com: The Sports Team of the Year...

Los Angeles Kings Goalie Jonathan Quick Favored to Follow Tim Thomas' Lead, Win Conn Smythe Trophy

Last year, the Boston Bruins rode a hot goaltender in Tim Thomas to their first Stanley Cup Finals trip since 1990. The B's went on to beat the Vancouver Canucks in seven games behind Thomas' stellar performance for their first title since 1972. This season, the Western Conference's eighth-seeded Los Angeles Kings are following the same script. The Kings knocked off No...

Jonathan Quick Following Tim Thomas' Blueprint on Path to Stanley Cup Finals (Video)

Jonathan Quick has been outstanding this postseason, looking a lot like the unbelievable goalie he's been billed as for a few seasons. Quick has lead the Los Angeles Kings from the shadows of an eight seed in the Western Conference all the way to a Stanley Cup Finals berth. The talented 26-year-old will take the ice opposite three-time Stanley Cup champion Martin Brodeur on Wednesday...
