Despite jumping out of the gate with the best 10-game start in team history, there’s still plenty of room for the Bruins to improve as they continue their play through the 2013 season. Once again, the Boston power play has struggled, much to the chagrin of the fan base. However, the plusses have outweighed the minuses so far, and the Bruins’ place on top of the Northeast Division standings are a testament to that. A quarter of the way through a short 2013 season, the B’s have established themselves as contenders once again. However, there are still plenty of chinks in the armor for the team to iron out before the trade deadline creeps up. NESN.com NHL writer Mike Cole joined NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette on the podcast Thursday to discuss the B’s power-play woes, and whether trading Tim Thomas could provide the answer to them. The two also discussed if Dougie Hamilton has regressed, when Tyler Seguin will finally break out, how Erik Karlsson’s injury impacts the division and much more....

The Jack Edwards/Kris Kross 'Jump' mash-up is spectacular (Video)

Boston Bruins announcer Jack Edwards went viral overnight when he was caught jumping up and down in the broadcast booth as the Bruins tied the New York Rangers in the final minute of regulation after being down 3-0 in the third period of Tuesday night's game at the TD Garden. Well, now the folks at Days of Y'Orr have mashed up the video footage of Edwards' jumping...

Tyler Seguin ‘Pumped’ for Upcoming Revolution Season, Tweets Picture Wearing Revs Scarf (Photo)

Tyler Seguin is among the many New England residents who can’t wait to watch some live professional soccer. The Bruins star Tweeted a picture of himself wearing a New England Revolution scarf, saying he’s ready to see the New England Revolution in action at Gillette Stadium. “Getting pumped for the @nerevolution home opener. #bethere323,” Seguin remarked. The New England...

Jack Edwards Defends Announcing Style After Jumping for Joy During Bruins-Rangers Game

Jack Edwards loves what he does for a living; we should all be so lucky. Maybe that’s the reason that some sports fans are so eager to jump on him when he makes a seemingly over-the-top call while broadcasting Bruins games on NESN. He was at it again on Tuesday night when the Bruins took on the Rangers at TD Garden. Edwards was shown jumping up and down after Brad Marchand scored...

Dougie Hamilton Scores First Career Goal in First Period of Bruins-Sabres Matchup (Video)

New England’s love affair with Dougie Hamilton has been very well-publicized. Hamilton’s early season success has now another chapter, as No. 27 has netted his first career goal. The official time of the goal was 17:56 into the first period, a time Hamilton will likely never forget. Teammate Milan Lucic made sure to grab the puck out of the net for Hamilton, and that puck...

Is NoseFace the best goal scorer on the Bruins? (Poll)

After their game tomorrow night, the Bruins will be a quarter of the way through the shortened 48 game season. Sitting pretty with only one regulation loss thus far, things are looking good for this Boston squad and they seem poised for a run. But one question that begs asking: is Brad "Rad" Marchand going to be the primary goal scorer for this year's team? Many (including...

The Bruins are scheduled to have Monday, Feb. 18 off, but a handful of B’s will be making arguably their most important road trip of the season. Bruins head coach Claude Julien and a group of his players will make a trip to Newtown, Conn., on Monday to participate in a variety of events, including meeting with families and signing autographs. According to a release from the team...

Claude Julien Admits Bruins Were ‘Caught Off-Guard’ by Desperate Sabres After Failing to Put Game Away (Video)

The Bruins looked the better team for 40 minutes on Friday night, but unfortunately for them, a hockey game takes 60 minutes to finish. The Sabres stormed back against the B’s in the third period Friday, taking advantage of the fact that Boston hadn’t put the game away earlier despite have countless chances to do just that. Afterward, coach Claude Julien admitted to NESN’s...

Claude Julien Says Tyler Seguin Must ‘Bear Down,’ But Expects Forward to Come Around

BOSTON — The Bruins have been one of the league’s best teams through the first quarter of the shortened NHL season, and they’ve been able to do so without much of anything from one of their best players. Tyler Seguin‘s production is down, by his standards at least, through the first 11 games. After Tuesday night’s shootout loss to the Rangers, Seguin has just two goals...

Bruins Have Chance to Land Knockout Blow in Latest Battle Against Buffalo (Video)

The Bruins and Sabres have squared off twice already this season, and there have been some pretty physical battles in both meetings. On Friday, the two teams will renew niceties at the First Niagara Center, with the Bruins holding a sizeable lead in the standings. A win away from the TD Garden could all but put the division out of reach for the Sabres, and with all the uncertainty...

Bruins Staying True to Form Against Sabres, Waiting Until Late to Spring Into Action (Video)

The Bruins have had some tremendous success in the late stages of games this season, and that could be playing out once again in Buffalo on Friday night. After trailing for much of the first period, the Bruins sprang into action, with Dougie Hamilton scoring his first career NHL goal. That knotted things up at 1-1, but something tells us the drama isn’t done just yet in this one...

Bruins Not Prepared to Play ‘Desperate’ Sabres Team in Uncharacteristic Third Period (Video)

The Bruins played a great 40 minutes on Friday. The problem is that hockey is a 60-minute contest. The Sabres played like a desperate team during the third period, catching the Bruins off guard and scoring three unanswered goals. That turned a one-goal lead into a two-goal loss, and after the game — the Bruins’ second trip to Buffalo in a week — Boston was left wondering where...

RECAP: Boston Plays Like ******* in Third. Bruins lose.

Awful game. Absolutely awful game. After dominating the first two periods the Boston Bruins came out into the third period and took a huge John Scott size dump on the ice. Buffalo scores three unanswered goals and win 4-2. Ugh. This loss is worse than the one on Jan 31st. In that game both sides of the ice were an absolute ******** for Boston. Tonight's was just infuriating...

12. Boston Bruins at Buffalo Sabres

Didn't we just play these guys? I feel like the Bruins February schedule is home vs NYR, then at Buffalo, then at NYR, then home against Buffalo - rinse and repeat. I'm not complaining though because playing Buffalo is like Michael Jordan dominating a wheelchair basketball game. For a team I picked to finish on top of the Northeast Division - they're ******* terrible...

Don't Call It a Comeback! Because It Fell Short. BRUINS LOSE.

So ummm... we can't even be mad at that loss. Sure, the Bruins played like crap for 99% of the game and spotted the Rangers three goals but they did not deserve a point, but they stole one! But seriously, how bonerific (what is the girl equivalent?) were those last few minutes when Rask was pulled and the B's were storming the Rangers net like the beaches of Normandy...
