The Boston Bruins - Pittsburgh Penguins game scheduled for 7:00pm ET on Friday night in the TD Garden has been postponed. The entire city of Boston has been locked down and in a state of high alert Friday due to a massive hunt for one of the Boston Marathon bombing suspects. This followed a night of violence which sprawled through several Boston neighborhoods late Thursday night and into Friday morning.
The game has been tentatively rescheduled for Saturday at 12:30pm ET at the Garden. If the current situation in Boston isn't resolved by Saturday morning, it's highly likely the game will be pushed further back. The NHL has shifted Pittsburgh's game against Buffalo which was originally set for Saturday night over to Tuesday night, as seen in numerous reports.
Both the Bruins and Penguins canceled their morning skates on Friday due to the manhunt. During the announcement that the morning skate was called off, players were reportedly told to stay home and more import...

After state, federal and federal law enforcement captured the suspects of the Boston Marathon bombings, the Bruins updated their “Boston Strong” pregame video to include footage from the emotional events in Watertown, Mass.
The Bruins showed the updated video, set to Phillip Phillips’ song “Home,” before the national anthem on Saturday afternoon at TD Garden prior the Penguins...
Boston Bruins national anthem singer Rene Rancourt said Wednesday night’s stirring rendition of the national anthem at Boston’s first major sports event since the Marathon bombing was his most memorable ever.
He also said he worried about being able to get through it. He began the anthem, then put down his microphone and let the TD Garden crowd take it from there...

Andrew Ference speaks with Naoko Funayama before the game and then the moment of silence. Followed up by Boston Strong presentation and then a very emotional National Anthem. An unbelievable week in one of the most historic cities of our great nation. Boston is a strong and proud city.
BOSTON — Nathan Horton looked as physically engaged as he has in a while Saturday afternoon, and that culminated in a first period fight with Pittsburgh’s Jarome Iginla. Unfortunately for Horton and the Bruins, that’s where his day ended.
The big Boston winger left Saturday’s 3-2 loss to the Pens with an apparent hand or wrist injury. Horton and Iginla dropped the gloves...
BOSTON — The Bruins are obviously no fans of Pittsburgh Penguins forward Matt Cooke, and they aren’t afraid to let anyone know about it apparently.
Cooke was in the middle of things again Saturday night when he delivered a questionable hit to Boston defenseman Adam McQuaid during the second period of Pittsburgh’s 3-2 win over the B’s.
Bruins coach Claude Julien was clearly...
BOSTON — For the second time in as many games, the Bruins were playing on the heels of events that were much bigger than hockey. And for the second time in as many games, the B’s failed to give the city of Boston the lift that the club so dearly wanted to provide.
The B’s dropped a 3-2 decision to the Pittsburgh Penguins, less than 24 hours after one of the most trying days...
When Boston Bruins goaltender Anton Khudobin found himself far out of his crease leaving a wide open net to Drew Stafford, Andrew Ference came to the rescue. The Bruins defenseman dove back and blocked the puck with his leg, saving a sure goal.Reminds me of Tomas Kaberle's amazing save from 2008 in a game versus the Ottawa Senators...
On Wednesday night, before the Boston Bruins and the Buffalo Sabres took part in the first sporting event in the city since the bombings at the marathon a few days ago, everyone within the confines of the TD Garden Arena came together and performed a moving rendition of the “Star Spangled Banner.”
Check the video out here:
Well that was a disheartening loss. Bruins came out sticks blazing in the first. If Fleury had started over Vokoun it would've been 20-0 Bruins five minutes in.
But then much like a Buffalo Sabres playoff run, the Bruins just faded down the stretch. What made the loss even worse was that the Penguins were playing without Crosby, Malkin, Neal and Martin. For a team...
Per release, final decision on rescheduled day/time of game will be made by NHL, Bruins & Pens by 8:30 am ET tomorrow, Saturday, April 20^CS

Another good move by the National Hockey League and the Boston Bruins. The Boston Police and Federal Law Enforcement officials can track down the terrorist without having to worry about...
This rivals Whitney Houston’s Super Bowl XXV rendition (see below) for the most impressive National Anthem in sports history. Rene Rancourt starts singing, and then the TD Garden crowd takes it home as Boston returns to sports two days after the bombing at the Boston Marathon.

The Bruins, who currently sit in fourth place in the Eastern Conference standings, will host the conference-leading Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday night at TD Garden. But playoff positioning is but a small part of what makes this matchup so compelling.
Along with perennial All-Stars Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin, Pittsburgh’s offense has been further bolstered by the addition...
It means so much less than so many things in the grand scope of everything, but it will be nice to have hockey. Go Pens. Go Boston.
