Ilya Bryzgalov made 28 saves to record his second shutout in three games and the Philadelphia Flyers beat the Florida Panthers 5-0 on Thursday night for their fourth straight win. Brayden Schenn, Matt Read, Scott Hartnell, Jaromir Jagr and Eric Wellwood scored for the Flyers. Bryzgalov has finally played like the goalie the Flyers expected when they gave him a $51 million, nine-year contract. After struggling much of the season, he's 7-2 with a 2.10 goals-against average while making 10 straight starts. Fans who booed him just last month at the Wells Fargo Center chanted ''Bryz! Bryz! Bryz!'' in the third period. The victory moved the Flyers within two points of fourth-place Pittsburgh in the Eastern Conference. The Southeast Division-leading Panthers, seeking their first playoff berth since 2000, entered with a two-point lead over Winnipeg, which was eighth in the conference. The Flyers, already missing Chris Pronger for the season, played without defensem...

Tune into FOX Sports Florida at 7 p.m. to watch the Florida Panthers take on the Philadelphia Flyers. NHL Panthers territory. Injuries continue to plague the Philadelphia Flyers, but at least Ilya Bryzgalov's play no longer seems to be. With the Flyers possibly further depleted up front, they might need another strong performance from Bryzgalov if they're going to post...

Bryz Dominates Again, Flyers Beat Panthers 5-0

Game notes: Ilya Bryzgalov recorded his fourth shutout of the season.  He has a 1.25 GAA and a .960 save percentage during the Flyers’ current four-game winning streak.  He started his 10th game in a row, the longest starting streak since Sergei Bobrovsky started 12 games in a row last season. The Flyers finished the night with an 18-6 advantage in blocked shots.  Brandon Manning...

Wayne Simmonds and Max Talbot Proving to be Solid Additions for Flyers

The Philadelphia Flyers' Wayne Simmonds is currently fourth in scoring on the Flyers after posting a career high 22 goals so far this season. The Philadelphia Flyers have had an interesting season to say the least. I know I’ve talked about the off-season makeover quite a bit already, but when you stop and consider just how different this team is from last year, it really is...

After All The Changes, It Appears The Flyers Have Found Their Game

from Eric Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail, Life without Chris Pronger has left a void in the Philadelphia Flyers’ dressing room that extends far beyond his considerable on-ice presence. Pronger was such a big presence for the Flyers since arriving from the Anaheim Ducks that his absence is palpable – and evident the moment you walk into the room and can’t find his laughing...

Flyers GM: Jagr unlikely to play, Voracek out vs. Panthers

Philadelphia Flyers veteran right wing Jaromir Jagr is nursing a hip injury and is unlikely to play in Thursday's home game against the Florida Panthers. Jagr suffered the injury after Flyers defenseman Braydon Coburn checked Detroit's Valtteri Filppula into him during Tuesday's 3-2 victory over the Red Wings. "He is fairly sore and probably not available to play...

Flyers-Maple Leafs Preview

After struggling for much of February, the Philadelphia Flyers appear to be hitting their stride. Most importantly, their goaltender has been the catalyst to the turnaround and appears to be brimming with confidence. Coming off his second shutout in three games, Ilya Bryzgalov should be in net looking to lead the Flyers to a fifth straight victory Saturday night against a Toronto...

Flyers Recall Harry Z

The Flyers just announced that they have recalled Brandon Manning. They have also recalled forward Harry Zolnierczyk from Adirondack.

Niklas Kronwall Just DEMOLISHES the Flyers' Voracek

Niklas Kronwall of the Detroit Red Wings is known for giving out punishing hits, something Philadelphia's Jakub Voracek learned the hard way during Tuesday's game between the two teams. Grabbing the puck and starting to head up the ice quickly, Voracek runs into the solid barrier that is Kronwall's shoulder. Immediately staggering on the ice, the refs should have whistled...

Jakub Voracek was blasted last night by Nicklas Kronwall

This is painful to watch.  The Flyers are up in arms about this hit delivered by the Detroit Red Wings Nicklas Kronwall, but it looks relatively clean if you ask me, just the timing was really crappy for Voracek.  He did get him in the head, but it doesn’t appear to be the intent
