Who says old faces can’t come home? The Buffalo Sabres have acquired defenseman Henrik Tallinder from the New Jersey Devils in exchange for minor-leaguer Riley Boychuk. From 2001-2010, Tallinder played in 468 games with Buffalo before signing with the Devils in the summer of 2010. Since leaving Buffalo, Tallinder has dealt with injury issues, and hasn’t had the same success he had when he paired with Tyler Myers on the blueline in 2010. The expectation is for that pairing to once again happen as an effort to get Myers out of his two-year slump. The acquisition of the Swede now makes Buffalo’s blueline even more crowded. With Tallinder, Myers, Christian Ehrhoff, Alexander Sulzer, and Mike Weber securely in the top six, there will be three/four others vying for the final spot in the back end. Kevin Freiheit: Leggio gone, Miller next?

First off, David Leggio has signed with the Washington Capitals. The two-time MVP for the Amerks is now gone. How much trade value do Miller and Vanek carry? For this post, I'm going to assume that the Sabres are shopping Thomas Vanek and Ryan Miller. I feel both of them are going to be traded and Buffalo can go for an all-out rebuild on the ice. Both players are entering...

Happy Saturday. Its Day 2 of the UFA Binge-Fest. Here are the notable unrestricted free agents who are still available to Darcy Regier and your Buffalo Sabres. I'm ranking them in my order of importance to the Sabres. You may see thing differently. Forwards come first, in my opinion. They need to add a leader to the group of young forwards. Right now, Ott, Vanek, Kaleta...
