Buffalo Sabres Tyler Myers will certainly be issued a suspension today, as the NHL Department of Safety have scheduled a hearing with the 6 foot, 8 inch defenseman.
Myers receives a bit of a bump, and dishes out a leaning hit with a bit of elbow in the mix for good measure in the Buffalo zone.
It’s a clear suspension for the 22-year-old. He’s not a real tough customer ranking 242nd in hits with 73. But he uses his size to his advantage in blocked shots with 65, ranking 146th.
It may be a three-game slap of the wrist, but if Myers had a dark cloud over his head, it may be worse.
Although, even with a suspension, some would argue a hit on Scott Gomez was justified. And for insult to injury, Myers would go on scoring the overtime game-winner against the Canadiens.
