AP Photo/Mark J. TerrillIt was one of the sleepiest games you’ll ever watch, and in the end the Calgary Flames found the back of the net more than the LA Kings did in the shootout. Miikka Kiprusoff stopped two LA shooters and Olli Jokinen and Mike Cammalleri both scored to give the Flames the shootout win.
Kings captain Dustin Brown opened the scoring 3:28 into the first period when he found a bouncing puck on his stick right in the slot. He wasted no time firing the puck past Miikka Kiprusoff’s stick to put his team up 1-0.

Shaune Vetter: Big Win In LA
Who's kidding who? The Flames have zero chance to win that game last night if Miikka Kiprusoff doesn't stand on his head and out-duel one of the top goalies in the league in Jonathan Quick. Sure, people in other markets will tell you that Miikka is washed up, that his numbers have been on the decline since '04 and that for all intents and purposes he's essentially...

from Eric Duhatschek of the Globe and Mail, Considering it’s a meeting between the Western Conference’s 11th and 14th place teams, it may be overstating matters to describe Saturday’s matchup between the Calgary Flames and the Edmonton Oilers as the Battle of Alberta. For now, call it the minor altercation of Alberta, which has a new oddball subtext, thanks to Calgary...
