Buffalo Sabes left wing Thomas Vanek suffered an upper-body injury in Thursday's loss to the Boston Bruinss.
Vanek was knocked out of the game when he was flattened by Boston defenseman Johnny Boychuk.

Lindy Ruff was faced with a serious challenge on Wednesday morning.
