The Sharks needed a better effort to climb their way into the win column, and with a number of contributors tonight they were able to put two points in the bank in a 3-2 shootout win over the Colorado Avalanche.
The story tonight was Logan Couture filling the net 0:25 seconds into the game, T.J Galiardiâs first goal of the season, Semyon Varlamovâs brilliance in net for the Avs, and Pat...

RHYMES WITH 'STICK'
Usually our broadcast bloopers involve a typo or an error in a graphic during an NHL game. This time we switch things up, highlighting an incredible slip of the tongue during Comcast SportsNet's coverage of the Sharks and Avalanche on Feb. 26. Where exactly did Joe Thornton have the puck? To be fair, the sentence blurs a bit together here. Clearly, the intended word...
Everybody’s favorite (former) mountain man hockey player Brent Burns will reportedly be out for the Sharks’ next two games after injuring himself in Saturday’s loss to the Stars.
Todd McLellan announced the news after practice on Monday. According to CSN’s Kevin Kurz, Burns suffered an “apparently leg injury” in Saturday’s contest. The Sharks have been notriously tight...
This is why it's always important for announcers to enunciate words. At a recent Sharks-Avalanche game, just listen to how Sharks analyst Drew Remenda describes this replay involving Joe Thornton. Because "his stick" can blend together and actually sound like something else. Something else that would be pretty disturbing to see on the ice!

The NHL has suspended Sharks forward Ryane Clowe for two games after taking part in a fight in the closing moments of Friday’s loss at the Blackhawks.
Clowe was given a game misconduct by the game officials after they believed that Clowe illegally left the bench to instigate a fight with Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw, which would have been grounds for a 10-game suspension.
The Sharks will be without Ryane Clowe for their next two games, but San Jose is lucky the league’s punishment to the forward wasn’t much more severe.
Clowe was assessed a roughing minor and game misconduct on Friday when he left the bench to accost Chicago’s Andrew Shaw with less than 10 seconds remaining in the Blackhawks’ 2-1 win. He faced a possible 10-game suspension...
The San Jose Sharks may be relieved to end February, but they'd like to do it in positive fashion.
Taking the ice at home against the struggling Detroit Red Wings should help.
The Sharks go for back-to-back wins for the first time this month on Thursday night when they attempt to continue their home success against the Red Wings.
San Jose (9-6-3) has gone 2-6-3 this month...
On February 26th, during the San Jose Sharks-Colorado Avalanche game Comcast SportsNet’s broadcaster had a bit of a slip of the tongue. Clearly he meant to say “his stick,” but it blended together a little bit more than he would have liked and it came out “his d*ck.” I gotta say, it would be much harder to play hockey that way.
