Montreal Canadiens defenseman Chris Campoli left Thursday's season-opening game against the Toronto Maple Leafs with a lower-body injury. Campoli, 27, needed assistance to leave the ice and returned to the locker room. His return is questionable. Signed to a one-year, $1.75 million deal on Sept. 26, Campoli collected four goals, 17 assists and 36 penalty minutes last season in 77 games with the Ottawa Senators and Chicago Blackhawks. Acquired from Ottawa at the trade deadline, Campoli appeared in 19 games with Chicago and had one goal and six assists.
