Montreal Canadiens defenseman Hal Gill has been hospitalized with an undisclosed ailment, the team announced.
Gill has missed three games, including Thursday's tilt against the New York Islanders with what the team is calling a virus.
Gill isn't expected to play on Saturday against the New York Rangers.
The 14-year-veteran has one assist in 16 games this season.
