The skinny: Ryan White deflected Jarred Tinordi’s shot from the point at 16:08 of the third period to give the Canadiens a 3-2 win over the New Jersey Devils Monday night at the Bell Centre. The Canadiens used a veteran-laden lineup and received strong performances from Max Pacioretty (two goals) P.K. Subban (two assists) and Carey Price (19 saves).
Mr. Pac-Man: Pacioretty opened the scoring with a power-play goal at 2:22 of the second period as Daniel Brière found him in the high slot on a power play. On his second goal at 8:32 of the second period he took a stretch pass from Subban at the blue line split defencemen Andy Greene and Damon Severson and went strong to the net to beat Martin Brodeur with a backhander.
