Canes put Aaron Ward on waivers

The Canes today placed defenseman Aaron Ward on waivers. Teams have 24 hours to claim him. Ward, who played for the Canes' 2006 Stanley Cup champions, returned to Carolina in an offseason trade with the Boston Bruins.  He was minus-15 in 31 games. Ward was at practice today at the RecZone but left early.
