Daniel Sedin Needs To Play In A Selfish Way

from Ed Willes of the Vancouver Province, In the aftermath of the Vancouver Canucks’ win on Tuesday night, it was gently suggested to Henrik Sedin that it’s not necessarily a good thing he has almost as many goals as his brother. The Canucks captain thought about this for a moment, nodded his head in the affirmative, then dissected Daniel’s slump as neatly as he dissects...

Vancouver Canucks have myriad problems

The Vancouver Canucks ceded the Northwest Division lead to Minnesota Monday night with a 3-1 loss to the visiting Wild. “Obviously, we are trying, we’re working hard, but we are not winning,” goaltender Roberto Luongo told reporters after that loss. “When that happens, sometimes guys tend to press a little bit and that’s not always a good thing.”What’s wrong with these...

What’s Happened With The Canucks?

from Mark Spector of Sportsnet, Sometimes you just get “The Feeling” about a team. That perhaps, this is just not its time. Or, when you are Alain Vigneault, that this might be the end of your time. In Vancouver, at least. The Vancouver Canucks have gone blah. Meh… Watching them used to be must-see TV on a West Coast start after the kids have gone to bed. But...

Chip McCleary: 3/20, Blues at Canucks - Recap (aka "if we took out the 2nd period, ...")

I haven’t watched the entire game yet (I saw the 1st period and the first two Vancouver goals and then caught highlights this morning; I’ll get the rest tonight), but my 3 stars for that stretch were: 1. Cory Schneider, VAN. With the Canucks outshot 15-3 in the 1st, he was the reason it was still 0-0. 2. Daniel Sedin, VAN. Was dangerous offensively, and the 2nd Vancouver...

Canucks Keep Waiting

from Tony Gallagher of the Vancouver Province, Right now this group seems incapable of helping itself. Minus Kesler to give them a second unit to threaten offensively five-on-five and make the first power play unit effective, they can’t score enough to play the style they were designed to play, yet aren’t getting the goaltending to win the 2-1 games. They can’t even win...

Canucks 2, Coyotes 1

Jordan Schroeder scored midway through the third period, Cory Schneider stopped 33 shots and the Vancouver Canucks grinded out a 2-1 win over the Phoenix Coyotes on Thursday night. Schneider allowed a tying goal to Antoine Vermette in the third period, but Schroeder put the Canucks back up by punching in a rebound after a redirect by Jannik Hansen trickled past Coyotes goalie Jason...
