Mike Milbury trashes Alex Ovechkin's play against Flyers (Video)

NBC Sports Network NHL analyst Mike Milbury completely trashed Washington Capitals captain Alex Ovechkin for his lack of effort during Wednesday night's game against the Philadelphia Flyers. During the second intermission, Milbury said that Oveckin "should be ashamed of himself" for his "awful display of hockey" during the first two periods. Among the lowlights...

Canucks blue line breakdown: defensive depth an issue?

Quick Question… Has the absence of Kevin Bieksa exposed Vancouver’s blue line imbalance? Mike Gillis has always been a big believer in acquiring a wealth of defensive talent. Since his start with the Vancouver Canucks, Gillis has preached a dogma of depth and foresight, accounting for injuries and other bad luck as a season grinds on. The off-season acquisition of Jason Garrison...

Mike Milbury slams Ovechkin, tells him to "act like a man"

Mike Milbury ripping on Alex Ovechkin isn't exactly a new thing. The NBC commentator seems to love calling out Ovechkin whenever he's given the opportunity. The second intermission between Washington and Philadelphia was no exception, as Milbury went on quite the rant about the struggling star. Maybe aside from the unnecessary "act like a man" comment,...

Ovechkin Is A Big Stupid Baby

It’s no secret that Alex Ovechkin’s effort and output this season have been hit-or-miss. But to say he’s a “disgusting” “baby” with “no fight” who should be “embarrassed” might be going a bit far. That didn’t stop NBC’s Mike Milbury during intermission in last night’s loss:

Mike Milbury Rips Alex Ovechkin: “He Should Be Ashamed Of Himself”

As any hockey fan should know, Mike Milbury is certainly not one to keep his opinions to himself. He’s made Tommy Salo cry, beaten up a fan with a shoe, allegedly assaulted a 12-year old, and once even referred the entire country of Russia as “Eurotrash.” His latest target was Washington Capitals forward Alex Ovechkin, who according to Milbury “should be ashamed of himself...

Harry Zolnierczyk knee on Mathieu Perreault

From the replay, it does look like the Flyers forward Harry Zolnierczyk catches Capitals forward Mathieu Perreault with a "dirty" knee check, just like Taylor Hall hit Cal Clutterbuck. It's a bit of a different angle so it's not as cut an dry in my opinion. If I was a betting man, and I am, I think a suspension is coming for Zolnierczyk I would imagine that ...

Mike Milbury calls out Ovie

Alex Ovechkin makes $9,538,462 a year to play hockey for the Washington Capitals and I think Mike Milbury is right to call him out on National television, he played like a bag of ass tonight. If I was the owner of the Washington Capitals I would be upset. If I was a team mate of Ovechkin I would be upset.

Ian Esplen: Not pretty, not even a point

Follow me on twitter @IanEsplen to chat hockey, sports and life in general anytime Another game, and another lackadaisical effort by the Canucks as they were downed 4-2 by the Coyotes. The game came pretty much as expected, the Canucks usual regular season compete level Vs the trap of the Coyotes. The game wasn't much to talk about other than Dale Weise getting beat...
