Washington Capitals defenseman John Erskine will make his season debut on Tuesday against the Anaheim Ducks.
Erskine has been sidelined since the playoffs last season with a shoulder injury. He had surgery shortly after the Capitals were eliminated by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference semifinals.
The 31-year-old Erskine, who will likely be paired with Jeff Schultz, collected four goals, seven assists and 94 penalty minutes last season.
