from Chuck Gormley of CSNWashington, Veteran defenseman Roman Hamrlik has played for 16 different head coaches in his 19-year NHL career.
Yet with all of that experience Hamrlik cannot come up with a reason the Capitals have been so resistant to play the style of hockey they’ve been asked to play this season, first under Bruce Boudreau and now under Dale Hunter.
“It’s easy to see when you see it from the press box,” Hamrlik told CSNwashington.com after Monday’s morning skate at Joe Louis Arena. Hamrlik, who has sat out 10 of the last 13 games as a healthy scratch, is expected to be in the lineup tonight. He said he knows why the Caps aren’t winning on a consistent basis.
“Too many mistakes that cost our team,” he said. “What have we played? Over 65 games? And we’re still doing it the same way. I don’t know how you’re supposed to learn. I don’t understand how we’re still doing the same mistakes over and over. Something has to change.”
