Washington Capitals center Mathieu Perreault will play in place of Marcus Johansson in Saturday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Perreault, 23, collected seven goals and seven assists in 35 games last season. He will skate on a line with Alexander Semin and Troy Brouwer.
Johansson, 20, was merely the odd-man out on Saturday, but is expected to return shortly. The 24th overall pick of the 2009 draft, Johansson had 13 goals and 14 assists in 69 games during his rookie campaign.
