As I still look to figure out what I want this blog to look like, I will be experimenting with some various formats for game write-ups. The material should be mostly the same, just may look a little different.
The Capitals remained 6-0 at home this season, thanks to a come-from-behind, OT victory over the Anaheim Ducks. This was one of those games where a team does not deserve to leave with points, and somehow leaves with 2. In recent years, defensemen have been making quicker jumps to the NHL than in the past. Anaheim Ducks blue-liner Cam Fowler is one of them. Despite the current numbers, the Fowler hasn’t missed a beat in his sophomore campaign thus far.Fowler has two assists and a minus-3 rating through 11 games. On the surface, those numbers don’t impress. After his 40-point output last...

Things started off well for the Ducks, but boy did they take a wrong turn by the end of the game! Instead of two points and a win on the road, the Ducks had to settle for one point in the 5-4 overtime loss to the Washington Capitals. Rather than their usual sluggish behavior on the ice, Anaheim came out with energy and a spring to their step. After losing two in a row, they...

Anaheim earned a 2-1 shootout victory in Stockholm, Sweden, which was the start of a four game winning streak. Meeting up with the Rangers in New York was deja vu for the Ducks, right down to the score of 2-1 in a shootout. The only problem was that this time the Rangers were the victorious...
WASHINGTON, DC — The frustration was palpable for the Anaheim Ducks, from Teemu Selanne hurling a water bottle in disgust at a large metal door near the locker rooms to coach Randy Carlyle's discontented tone in the postgame interviews.
"We had played so well earlier in the game. And then basically started to self destruct," said Carlyle, who watched his team squander...
