The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman John Erskine to a two year contract extension. Erskine has been with the Capitals since the 2006/07 season and has been a gritty, tough defenseman.
Erskine is easily having his best season with the Capitals this season, showing even more grit and toughness, something that is sorely lacking on the Caps blue li9ne. In 31 games this season, Erskine has scored 3 goals and added 4 assists. His three goals this season are the highest of his career.
Given the way Erskine has played and the rare toughness he provides, it is an extension deserved.
