Found June 05, 2012 on No Guts, No Glory:
The Los Angeles Kings took a commanding 3-0 series lead in the Stanley Cup Finals after last night’s 4-0 win over the New Jersey Devils. And to add insult to injury, a few rather creative Kings fans who were seated right behind the Devils’ bench held up huge cardboard heads of ‘Jersey Shore’ cast members. Well done, Kings fans. Well done indeed. [NY Daily News]

Simon Gagne back in Kings lineup for Game 3

Five months after suffering a career-threatening concussion, Kings' forward Simon Gagne is expected to return to the lineup for Game 3 against the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Final. Game 3 is tonight at Staples Center and the Kings have a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. Fourth-line forward Brad Richardson looks to be the odd-man out but not because of an injury...

Stanley Cup a trophy fit for Kings

LOS ANGELES -- The men in white gloves who tend to the Stanley Cup keep the most storied trophy in North American sports at an undisclosed location before brining it into the building minutes before a team attempts to clinch. It should have been here during Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final on Monday. The Los Angeles Kings effectively won their first championship in franchise history...

Old man Brodeur not ready to retire

The Los Angeles Kings can end a few things with a victory in Game 4 of the Stanley Cup Final on Wednesday night: The series, one of the greatest runs in NHL playoff history and the franchise's status of never having won it all. The career of legendary New Jersey Devils goalie Martin Brodeur probably won't be added to that list. "I wouldn't trade this for anything...

Jonathan Quick, Kings Special Teams Have Los Angeles One Win Away from Stanley Cup

The first two games left some doubt. After Game 3 on Monday, there is no doubt whatsoever about these Kings' claim to the throne. After squeaking out a pair of 2-1 overtime victories in the first two games of the Stanley Cup Final in New Jersey, the Kings returned home and routed the Devils 4-0. Los Angeles is now up 3-0 in the series and just one win away from the franchise...

Kings Use 'Jersey Shore' Characters to Taunt Devils in Game 3 of Stanley Cup Final (Photo)

The Los Angeles Kings continue to roll through the Stanley Cup playoffs, just one win away from winning it all, and they also continue to "troll" their way through. There's no question that the Kings have been far and away the league's best team in the last month, and in the process of winning 15 games, L.A. has gotten some notoriety for off-ice things as well....

Brooks on Parise, 'Devils' Parise will soon wear new jersey'

Zach Parise & his fans (Photo credit: New Jersey State Library) This will be one of the top stories in the NHL this summer - where is Zach Parise going to sign and with what team. Personally, I hope the Boston Bruins or the the home town Minnesota Wild are going to be choices for the former Fighting Sioux  First Team All-American and star forward Parise. Larry Brooks...

Kings aren't taking anything for granted

The Kings have already made history. They'd like to make a little more. The Kings, by virtue of their 4-0 win over New Jersey in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup final on Monday night, have become the first team in NHL history to win the first three games of each of its four playoff series. With one more victory, the Kings would claim the first Stanley Cup in franchise history....

Quick leads Kings to 3-0 series lead in Cup Finals

Kings goalie Jonathan Quick It looks like the end is nigh for the New Jersey Devils. After suffering a brutal 4-0 loss at L.A. last night they are now down 3-0 in the series. A poor power play combined with the outstanding play of Kings goalie Jonathan Quick doomed the Devils last night. New Jersey was 0-6 on the power play which included a minute long 5-on-3 in the first period...

Gagne Returning to Kings Lineup for Game 3

After missing the Kings' last 48 regular season games and the entirety of the playoffs, Simon Gagne will finally get his chance to lace 'em up tonight when Los Angeles hosts the Devils in Game 3 of the Stanley Cup Final. Gagne has not seen game action since December 26 when he suffered a concussion. In fact, he hadn't even resumed on-ice activities until May 25. The...

Kings land a massive TV deal with Fox Sports West

As player agent Allan Walsh so expertly put it on Twitter, the Los Angeles Kings have “struck while the iron is hot”: According to the Los Angeles Times’ Bill Shakin, the Kings inked a $250 million deal with Fox Sports West, though it isn’t necessarily due to the Kings’ playoff success: The Kings and Fox Sports have reached agreement on a new television contract, providing...

Will the Kings success lead to Paul Holgrem's demise?

With the Los Angeles Kings taking a commanding 3-0 series lead in the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, many believe that it is no longer a matter of "If" but "when" the Kings will raise the cup for their first in franchise history. Whether they close their winning season in Games 4, 5, or 6, one thing is for certain - they have had plenty of players step up in their...

Will Ferrell was back in front of the camera at an ice rink again. Only this time, it wasn't for another Blades of Glory. Taiwan’s Idea To Improve The Stanley Cup Finals: Voodoo, Bear Fights

My interest in the NHL season checked out with the Caps, but here’s a quick recap of what’s going on: the Los Angeles Kings are up 3-0 against the New Jersey Devils in the Stanley Cup Finals, and, more importantly, Taiwan’s Next Media animation is recreating it as a Pro Bending battle between a bunch of guys dressed like the Burger King and the literal Devil. In pads. This...
