The Carolina Hurricanes continued to make this one of the most successful off-seasons in the team’s history by resigning star center Jeff Skinner to a six-year $34.35 million contract extension through the 2018-2019 NHL season. The deal is going to pay Skinner $4,325,000 in the upcoming 2012-2013 season and $6,000,000 per season every season following until the 2018-2019 season. At 20 years old Skinner is still in the young stages of his National Hockey League career with the Hurricanes, but he has already solidified himself as one of the cornerstone pieces of the team. Jeff Skinner has also become a favorite player among Carolina Hurricanes’ fans throughout the country, and fans should be excited to watch him continue to grow as a player with the Carolina Hurricanes’ organization. Skinner has a great mixture of speed and puck control, which he uses to his advantage to get to the net and score.
