COLUMBUS, OHIO The Columbus Blue Jackets have acquired defenseman Jack Johnson and a first round pick in either the 2012 or 2013 Entry Draft from the Los Angeles Kings in exchange for center Jeff Carter, club Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Scott Howson announced this evening. The deal is subject to the completion of player physicals.
Johnson, 25, has recorded eight goals and 16 assists for 24 points with 44 penalty minutes, while averaging 22:30 of ice time per game in 61 outings with Los Angeles this season. He has matched his career high in goals, ranking fifth on the club and leading all Kings' defensemen in that category. He ranked second on the club with four game-winning goals and was tied for third with five power play goals.
