With the confirmation yesterday that Eric Lindros and his Legion of Doom line mates will participate in the Winter Classic Alumni game, the excitement for the game has already begun.

Chris Therien added fuel to that excitement this morning by announcing via Twitter that he will join his former teammates on December 31st in the alumni game.

Therien was drafted by the Flyers 47th overall in the 1990 draft, and made it to the NHL in 1994. He played 10 seasons with the Flyers before he was traded to the Dallas Stars in the 2003-04 season, only to return to Philadelphia the next season.

His career as a Flyer could be described as solid and consistent, and Therien’s 753 game played is first among defensemen in Flyers’ history.

Therien, or as players and coworkers call him, “Bundy,” is now part of the Flyers radio broadcast team for 94 WIP. He and Tim Saunders call the action for the orange and black every game on-air, with Bundy providing the color commentary and Saunders doing the play-by-play.

He was a very likeable guy as a player and has become a fan favorite in the booth as well.
