BOSTON — Lost in the hubbub of Claude Julien‘s postgame rant about the officiating Sunday night in Boston was the fact that the Bruins head coach wasn’t unhappy with just the referees. The Boston bench boss called on his team to step up its game, aside from one line. It was clear that the line of Patrice Bergeron, Tyler Seguin and Brad Marchand was by far the Bruins’ best in their 4-3 loss to the Canadiens on Sunday night. Julien praised that line for that, but he didn’t let the rest of the team slide. “By far, they were our best line tonight,” Julien said. “And that’s the unfortunate thing; we didn’t have enough of those other lines going for us. You can’t win big games like that relying on just that one line. We need more out of the other lines and tonight wasn’t a night where we got that. “It’s a credit to them, I think Patrice had a great night. Obviously, Marshy with three assists, and Tyler I thought was skating well and competing well. That was a good line for us. Another li

Claude Julien Stands Behind Stance Against Embellishment, Says He Doesn’t Want His Team Doing It

Video- A Frustrated Claude Julien

from Joe Haggerty of CSNNE, “The frustrating thing is that we get 17 minutes into the penalty box when we should have been on the power play. It’s as simple as that,” said Julien. “It’s frustrating because tonight – as everybody saw – there’s a lot of embellishment. This is embarrassing for our game: the embellishing. Right now they’ve got over 100 power plays...

Claude Julien goes ham on refs, Habs diving

Last night's 4-3 loss ot the Montreal Canadiens was hard for Bruins fans to swallow, and the team itself, too. After the game, head coach Claude Julien went ham on the refs not calling a cross-check that broke a stick against Seguin's ribs, and the Habs for embellishing hits.  This prompted some Habs fans to get a little uppity, as to be expected. Some even...

Boston Bruins have mastered the art of diving

Bruins’ Third Line Continues to Struggle As Time to Make Changes May Be Approaching

The Bruins under Claude Julien have put the utmost value on being able to use any one of the four lines at just about any point in the game. At the very least, the B’s have been at their best when they’ve got the top three lines operating at an adequate level. That’s not happening right now, and while the Bruins’ early-season dominance may have hidden some of their flaws...

Funny rant on the NHL discipline

This article was in the Vancouver Sun today and it’s a scream… it’s a must read if you haven’t seen it. Cam Cole, The Vancouver Sun --- *** Is Boston coach Claude Julien right? Are the Habs the biggest collection of divers and embellishers in the NHL? (Memo to Beantown bloggers: does this mean the Vancouver Canucks are off the hook?) Is it an affront to all that's...

Brad Marchand, Claude Julien Both Call Out P.K. Subban After Bruins’ Loss to Canadiens

BOSTON — It’s becoming more and more clear that P.K. Subban is someone who relishes the opportunity to be the bad guy in opposing rinks, especially if that rink is TD Garden. When he’s in town with the Canadiens to play the Bruins, Subban turns into the NHL’s version of the bad guy in a professional wrestling match, or a heel as it’s called in the business. And while Subban...
