The Bruins stepped on the gas in the waning minutes of Saturday’s loss to the Maple Leafs, but in the end, it was too little too late. The Bruins out-shot Toronto by a 33 – 13 margin, yet couldn’t find the finishing touch to put the puck in the net. Bruins’ coach Claude Julien told Naoko Funayama after the game that he needed to see more fight from his team. “There wasn’t enough fight in the dog,” Julien said. “I didn’t think we had enough fight for, probably, two periods.” The loss closed out a four-game road trip for the B’s, and Julien said his team is aware that they are not at the top of their game heading into the end of the season. Check out the video above to hear the rest of what Claude Julien had to say after the loss.

Bruins-Maple Leafs Life: New-Look B’s Try to Turn Things Around Against Toronto

10 a.m. ET: The Bruins have won just once in their last four games, and they have scored just six goals over that stretch. Apparently that’s enough for Claude Julien to make some changes. The B’s return to Garden ice for the first time since March 16 on Monday night when they finish up a home-and-home with the division rival Toronto Maple Leafs. When the B’s do, it’s expected...

Bruins In Need of a Trade

So the NHL season is more than half over, and the Bruins sit near the top of the Eastern Conference yet again. The B's have played some of the most solid and complete hockey of any team in the NHL this year, resulting in 43 points through 29 games played. Yet it can be argued that something is missing from this team. Do they have a sniper that can bury the puck consistently as...

Bruins’ Second Effort Against Senators Busts Road Game Losing Slump, B’s are Prepared to ‘Do Whatever Can to Win Games’

The Bruins were able to pull out a win over the Senators Thursday night, lifting their road trip record to 2-1. The B’s dropped games to the Jets and Penguins last week to start off their four-game road trip. Dennis Seidenberg scored the game-winner in the final minutes of Thursday’s matchup, capping off a must-win game in order for the Bruins to change the direction of their...

Bruins Making Moves, But Not Trades, As Search for Goals Continues Against Maple Leafs (Video)

Bruins fans might be getting antsy as the NHL trade deadline nears, but the front office isn’t waiting around to make any moves. Not trades, mind you, but moves nonetheless. Claude Julien has shook up the B’s forward lines heading into Monday night’s game against the Maple Leafs, ostensibly to shake the team out of its collective goal-scoring funk. While it’s not the huge...

Ty Anderson: Break up the Bergeron line; B's & Leafs in Toronto

In their last 180 minutes of hockey, the Boston Bruins have scored four goals. There’s been one from Tyler Seguin, one from Brad Marchand, one from Danny Paille, and the fourth and final from Dennis Seidenberg. You can read that as undervalued scoring from a depth forward and defense-first blue-liner, or you could read that like I do -- Barely surviving thanks to nothin’...

Rich Peverley Miscue Leads to Maple Leafs Goal (Video)

The Bruins’ loss Saturday night to the Maple Leafs was a tough pill to swallow. The B’s put forth a solid effort, but weren’t able to capitalize on their opportunities in front of the net. On top of their offensive woes, the Bruins got caught on their heels in transition, which opened up another can of worms. In the video above, Bruins center Rich Peverley thinks his teammates...

Bruins Embrace Offensive Changes, Plan to Get Themselves ‘Back In It’

The Bruins” recent struggles have forced Claude Julien’s hand. The B’s head coach made some significant line changes heading into Monday nights game against the Maple Leafs. Julien moved Daniel Paille to a line with Patrice Bergeron and Tyler Seguin, making that line dangerous with its speed.  Paille told Naoko Funayama that they plan to use that speed to their advantage....

Bruins lose to Toronto 3-2, dropping 8 game win streak

If you did not get to watch this game, don't feel bad, you really only missed about 10 minutes of good hockey. The Bruins beat themselves tonight, plain and simple. Each period started with the Bruins seemingly skating through cement while Toronto noticeably playing for a playoff spot.  In the first period, while Boston was just aimlessly gliding around gave Nazem Kadri,...

Bruins Find ‘Tough Luck in Toronto’ for First Time in Years As Long Road Trip Comes to Close With Loss (Video)

Eventually, the Maple Leafs were going to beat the Bruins again. The manner in which it came Saturday didn’t make it any easier. Boston out-shot Toronto by a wide margin, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the three-goal deficit they found themselves in early on in the third period. Anton Khudobin was pulled for Tuukka Rask, but the damage was done and the B’s couldn’t get...

The Bruins are coming off of a 2-1 win over Ottawa after losing two games in a row to Pittsburgh and Winnipeg. Now the...
