Colby Cohen and David Liffiton sent back to Lake Erie tonight.
I believe that Ryan Wilson, who had a blood clot in a leg, will be back this week.
If the Avs send Kevin Shattenkirk back down with any other veteran return on the defense, I’m on record saying they will be making a mistake. Shattenkirk has added a lot to the team since coming up, and for the Avs to go back to the same old same old on defense would be a big step backward.
Someone is going to have to go, but it shouldn’t be Shatty (and, I asked him this myself – Shattenkirk has always gone by the nickname “Shatty” and he doesn’t mind it).
I liked what I saw of Cohen, but that illness he caught last week probably hurt his chances of staying. He didn’t get enough ice time because of it. He did make a few mistakes in his time, too, most notably losing Niklas Hagman in the corner in a 2-2 game with time running out in the third, leading to the game-winner ...
