The Denver district attorney’s office has reportedly reviewed the arrest of Colorado Avalanche goaltender Semyon Varlomov and released the following statement: Denver District Attorney Mitch Morrissey has formally charged a 25-year-old man with assault in connection with a domestic violence incident that occurred in Denver. Semyon Varlamov is charged with one count of third-degree assault. The charge alleges that Varlamov assaulted his girlfriend at their home on October 30,2013. Varlamov, who was released from custody on a $5,000 bond, is scheduled to appear in Denver County Courtroom 2100 on December 2, 2013 at 8:30 p.m. Varlamov was arrested for an incident with his former girlfriend, Evgeniya Vavrinyuk. He faced charges of second degree kidnapping and third degree assault. The kidnapping charge has since been dropped and he has been charged with third-degree assauly, a misdemeanour. Varlamov has maintained his innocence and has continued to play for the surprising Avalanche as this legal process continues.
