Mike Comrie's hockey career remains on indefinite hold after the veteran forward suffered a setback in his recovery from hip surgery.Comrie underwent surgery in December for the second time in his career, a procedure that limited him to just 21 games with the Pittsburgh Penguins. The 30-year-old did not address the setback, but did acknowledge that his road to recovery is longer than originally anticipated."In wanting to return to play after surgery, I pushed myself too early and that has not helped my recovery," Comrie said in a statement released by the NHL Players Association. "I will return to the NHL when I am healthy and able to play at the level I have come to expect of myself."Comrie had a goal and five assists for the Penguins last season. He is an unrestricted free agent, and Pittsburgh GM Ray Shero has already said his club will not make Comrie a contract offer.
