DISCLAIMER: Please pardon the title. I’m not trying to play into the rumor mill that so often envelops the City of Brotherly Love. This is nothing like all of the “Steven Stamkos to the Flyers” articles, and there will be no mention about a Kessel who goes by the first name of Phil – other than to say that yes, he is the brother of the subject of this column.
With all of the maneuverings that GM Paul Holmgren has undertaken with his Philadelphia Flyers club this summer, many in the Philly-area think the team is still lacking in too many areas.

While that may not be the case to the extreme the masses want to believe, there is an element that is definitely still eluding the current Flyers’ roster.
With all apologies to the oft-injured Matt Walker, Philadelphia could really use a big, right-handed shooting defenseman in their everyday lineup.
