Coyotes F Clayton Keller to miss game vs. Canadiens with injury
James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

As the Arizona Coyotes lost Clayton Keller last night to an upper-body injury against the Winnipeg Jets, the timetable and extent of said injury is becoming a bit clearer.

Around the midway point of the Coyotes’ 4-3 overtime defeat to the Winnipeg Jets, Keller was seen on the bench before going to the locker room and didn’t return to the game.

There was no update provided postgame about the severity of the injury as the next game on their schedule vs. the Montreal Canadiens tomorrow night.

This morning however, head coach André Tourigny talked about how long Keller will be out for following a practice in Montreal.

“It will take a few days,” Tourigny said. “What’s a few days? Not tomorrow.”

Prior to his absence, Keller skated for 8:16 of time-on-ice and recorded a shot when facing the Jets.

Keller leads Arizona in multiple statistical categories, with 22 goals, 30 assists and 52 points in 57 games.

At the time of reporting, there is no news on who will replace Keller or if someone receives a promotion from the Tucson Roadrunners (AHL).

Tomorrow evening, the Coyotes clash with the Montreal Canadiens at 5 p.m. MST.
