I won’t belabor the point that others have made regarding tonight’s game against the Lightning. You can find the links over at Five for Howling.
What I will say though is that if they thought the team from the mid-western state East of Wisconsin was fast, the Lightning has speed also and they are dangerous.
New head coach Guy Boucher has his Lightning squad playing the same way as in the early days with John Tortorella. During the 2003-2004 the rest of the NHL was sluggish with the holding, grappling, and hooking that has been legislated (with good reason) out of the game. The ‘Bolts were just faster than the other teams.
After the Lightning had its own ownership debacle, a new group stepped in, cleaned house, and brought in this guy in Steve Yzerman, who played hockey somewhat well, to be the GM. Yes, I’m joking about the somewhat well part – Stevie Y was awesome. I did enjoy seeing him play.
The ‘Bolts have speed and they love to hit. The Coyotes must be on their toes to win this won.
In other news, DiSH and Fox have emerged from counseling and are willing to stay married. The children will be oh so happy.
Game on.
