The Pittsburgh Penguins are enjoying another win streak while getting contributions from players other than just Evgeni Malkin. They'll try to stretch their run to six straight victories when they host a Phoenix Coyotes club looking to avoid a third straight defeat Monday night. Malkin is tied with Tampa Bay's Steven Stamkos for the NHL lead with 80 points. The superstar center has 18 points in an 8-2-0 stretch for Pittsburgh (38-21-5). He was one of five Penguins to score in a 5-1 win at Colorado on Saturday. Steve Sullivan, Arron Asham, Richard Park and Deryk Engelland also had goals on a night when James Neal and Jordan Staal - who have combined for 51 - had none. "We can't leave the scoring all up to 'Geno' (Malkin), 'Staalsy' (Staal) and 'Nealer' (Neal)," Asham said. "We've got to spread it out. That's how good hockey teams win, and that's how you're going to win in the playoffs." The Penguins, on thei...

Pens push towards the post-season

With the post-season about a month away, the Penguins have really started to hit their stride.  They moved into 4th in the East while holding the second highest point total in the Conference behind the Rangers and their special teams rank among the top five in the NHL for both the PP and PK.  The high tempo style behind Hart Trophy front runner Evgeni Malkin has also lead the Penguins...

Dreaming Of A Playoff Return For Crosby

from Josh Yohe of the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review, Penguins fans dream about captain Sidney Crosby returning from his 14-month bout with concussions and ending the most challenging chapter of his life by lifting the Stanley Cup. Turns out some of his teammates share that dream. “We’re hoping it’s going to be like Christmas morning one day,” defenseman Ben Lovejoy said. ...

Engelland Out, Strait In, Kennedy Possible

A few notes heading into tonight's game against the Phoenix Coyotes:   Deryk Engelland is day-to-day with a lower body injury. Brian Strait, who was recalled from WBS, will play. Pens' fast start too much for Coyotes in loss

PITTSBURGH (AP) -- Zbynek Michalek and Chris Kunitz scored first-period goals and the Pittsburgh Penguins beat the Phoenix Coyotes 2-1 on Monday night for their sixth straight victory. Michalek, a defenseman, put the Penguins in front with 8:16 left in the first by scoring just his second goal of the season. Kunitz doubled Pittsburgh's edge 3:01 later, and Marc-Andre Fleury...

RECAP: Rocky Mountain High. PENS WIN.

At least one Pittsburgh team can win Denver. The Pens did what they needed to do: got a big lead and got the hell out of Colorado.  The Stars and Avalanche aren't the 1980 Oilers or anything, but there's really no downside in the Pens riding into hostile road environments and taking 4 points. These 4 points move them to 81, 8 or so points behind the Rangers. ...

This Kid In A Sidney Crosby Sweater Is A Party Foul

This picture came from theCHIVE last week. I'm not entirely sure what compels someone to grab a bottle of Jack Daniels while dancing with someone of the opposite sex. I'll chalk it up to real-Sid's concussion. This poser is lucky he has an out.

VIDEO:Lindsay Lohan name drops Sidney Crosby on SNL

Such a shame. In the last 4 months the only time we've heard Sidney Crosby on NBC was by a serial killer and Lindsay Lohan.   thanks to @jaredtaber
