The Phoenix Coyotes narrowly avoided an arbitration hearing with Lauri Korpikoski, signing the forward to a two-year deal Wednesday worth $3.6 million.The Coyotes and Korpikoski were reportedly just a few minutes away from their scheduled arbitration meeting before coming to terms on a new deal. It's a significant raise for the Finnish winger, who made $750,000 last season.Korpikoski, who turns 25 next week, was second on the Coyotes with 19 goals last season. He finished with a career-best 40 points in 79 games in his second season with Phoenix.He has 30 goals and 35 assists in 218 career games with the Coyotes and New York Rangers.
