On Monday night, the Edmonton Oilers hosted the division rival Vancouver Canucks at Rexall Place. And while the fans were sent home disappointed, as the Oilers dropped the game, losing 3-2 in overtime, one fan showed up for the game dressed for success. At least if his goal was to terrify those around him as well as anybody in the television viewing audience.
You see, a man seated near the glass was sporting a horse head mask, and he was captured on video pounding on the glass while celebrating Ales Hemsky’s first period goal and scaring the bejeezus out of pretty much everybody who laid eyes upon him.
And an animated GIF of the disturbing scene, so the nightmare fuel can flow freely into your soon-to-be disturbed psyche:
Question: What possesses a person to wear a horse head mask to a hockey game? Shyness? Mental illness? A desire for anonymity? Did he call in sick to his night shift at the glue factory and didn’t want his boss to be able to identify him while at the same time giving a disturbing nod to his place of vocation? Whatever the reason, it’s damn creepy, man.
