PITTSBURGH (AP) Sidney Crosby had two goals in the final five minutes, helping the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-1 victory over the injury-riddled Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night.

Sidney Crosby may have got his 100th point of the season Tuesday night, but he sure didn't win the war. In a 4-1 loss to the Carolina Hurricanes, Crosby got hit in the face by a ref, followed by a hockey stick right in the groin. Towards the end of the game, Crosby ended up getting in a tussle with Jay Harrison.Go ahead, read the rest »
When Sidney Crosby is able to stay healthy and play a full season, 100 points is money in the bank. An assist on Chris Kunitz's first period goal against Carolina gave Crosby his 5th 100 point season of his career. He'll likely add to his league leading total in the final 6 games, and with a now 17 point lead in the scoring race it's safe to say Crosby has the Art Ross...
Let me know if you’ve heard this one before: a hard hit by Brooks Orpik, a star player injured, and yet another mindless conversation about Orpik’s status as a dirty player.
It’s almost a carbon-copy of the incident that happened early this season in Boston when Orpik belted Loui Ericsson near the blue-line, except this time Shawn Thornton wasn’t around to karate chop Orpik...
It is safe to say that Brooks Orpik's hit on Chicago Blackhawks' center, Jonathan Toews, will be talked about until your ears bleed for the next week or so. Of course, the NHL won't be able to celebrate anything positive, instead the NHL will have the likes of old-time hockey talking heads discussing whether or not Orpik's hit on Towes was illegal or not. Talking...

Here’s a shocker, Mike Milbury complaining about something. His target on Sunday night: Brooks Orpik.
Orpik hit Jonathan Toews hard in the Penguins zone, knocking the Hawks captain out. Mike Milbury had this to say:
Milbury says, “Orpik tries to hit people when they are vulernable, HE TRIES TO HURT PEOPLE.”
Trying to make sense of Milbury is always tough. He rambles through...
Not only did the Chicago Blackhawks go down by a score of 4-1 to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday, Jonathan Toews suffered an arm injury and was forced to leave the game after being on the receiving end of a violent, vicious and apparently, perfectly legal check (at least in the eyes of officials), from […] The post Jonathan Toews destroyed on vicious check from Brooks Orpik ...
The NHL has announced that the Pittsburgh Penguins forward, Marcel Goc will be out for three weeks with a foot injury.Micahel Miller-Wikimedia CommonsGoc suffered the injury on Thursday night when the Penguins played the Los Angeles Kings. His foot went awkwardly into the boards when he got knocked down. The bad news is Goc will be out for three weeks. However, the good news is...
Beau Bennett (1 A, 2 SOG, +2) is an intriguing option that many folks have likely long forgotten. Once upon a time Bennett was slated to start the season on the second line with Evgeni Malkin and everyone’s favorite player James Neal. Say what you will about Neal (I do!) but that was a choice place to land for the youngster who had everything to prove and the skills to do it. Well...
This hit by Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Brooks Orpik will certainly get looked at by the Department of Safety. Orpik absolutely crushed Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews, who left the game with an upper body injury. Toews looks like he hit his head multiple times on the play.

(Photo courtesy of TotalProSports.com)Looking at this current Penguins team, two things are abundantly clear. In terms of depth, this team is maybe the weakest since 2006. The Penguins have been top heavy for a few years, but this year it is even more apparent. The other thing that is abundantly clear is that Marc-Andre Fleury is at the very top of his game. He has not looked this...
As far as the Penguins are concerned, the story of this game was them holding their own against an elite team and exacting revenge for that snowy game at Soldier Field. And the Pens got some of their swag back, now having won two straight with 7 games remaining in the season.
As far as the NHL is concerned, the story of this game may be whatever news comes out about the Jonathan...
Losing Jonathan Toews gave Chicago energy.
It gave the Blackhawks motivation.
It gave them focus.
Gave them almost everything, it seemed, except a victory.
Mostly because Penguins goalie Marc-Andre Fleury wouldn't allow it.
Fleury stopped 25 shots in the Penguins' 4-1 victory against Chicago Sunday night at Consol Energy Center, and did most of his best work in the final...
With what appears to be an insurmountable lead in the Metropolitan Division, the Pittsburgh Penguins are simply focused on getting sharper for the playoffs.
