The Penguins have shuffled some players around at the Center position in the last few days with the trading of Mark Letestu to Columbus for a 4th rounder and the demoting of Dustin Jeffery to the Baby Pens, and some are starting to jump to the conclusion that this means that Crosby will be returning as early as Friday.  I’m certainly to inclined to agree that these moves took place to make room for Sid’s return to the Pens’ roster, but are we jumping to conclusions?

Perhaps.  Keep in mind that Staal has been battling a lingering lower body injury and Geno’s health has been anything but consistant, so this could possibly mean that those two have finally gotten healthy.  But then even with Vitale, that just leaves 3 centers listed on the roster.  Granted, we have several other players more than capable of stepping in and fill that last spot.  Craig Adams comes to mind as an ideal candidate for a 4th line center, but judging by the fact that the Penguins gave up Letestu so willingly suggests to me that there wasn’t going to be a spot for him any time soon which ultimately leads to to believe that Crosby will be back within the next week if not Friday.
