Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby isn't rushing his return to the ice.

When asked about speculation that he could suit up for Friday's game against the Dallas Stars, Crosby was quick to shoot down the notion.

"Nothing (has) changed," Crosby told the Pittsburgh Tribune Review, before noting "I guess they know more than I do.

"I haven't really thought about that. I've thought more about just getting through this week. (Playing Friday) is a possibility, just like the other however many games left there are (is a possibility) ... Everyone else’s guesses are as good as mine.”

Not surprisingly, Penguins coach Dan Bylsma isn't rushing to get the superstar back on the ice until he's ready.

"We are not waiting for an epiphany to make a decision,” Bylsma said. “He’s progressing. He’s going down that road. I’ll reiterate to you again, there is not a timetable or a date right now that we know and you don’t. He’s continuing to practice with the team. He got back out there (on the ice) after the weekend, and he’ll to continue to practice with the team this week."

Crosby has not played since Jan. 5 due to a concussion and is slowly working his way back to game condition. He was cleared for contact in practice Oct. 13 and has traveled with the team but has yet to play.

The former MVP had 32 goals and 34 assists in just 41 games last season.
