Pittsburgh Penguins captain Sidney Crosby participated in a full practice on Monday - his first since suffering his latest setback.
Crosby is dealing with a treatable soft tissue injury that is causing swelling in his top two vertebrae. The 2007 NHL MVP has not played since Dec. 5 due to concussion-like symptoms.
Crosby had been sidelined for 10 1/2 months before making a dramatic return to the lineup on Nov. 21, scoring two goals and adding two assists versus the New York Islanders.
The 24-year-old Crosby collected two goals and 10 assists in eight contests before he was shut down again. Crosby suffered the initial injury in January 2011.
