The St. Louis Blues acquired defenseman Kris Russell to the Central Division rival Columbus Blue Jackets for fellow blue-liner Nikita Nikitin late Thursday night. Russell collected two goals and an assist in 12 games for the Blue Jackets this season. The 24-year-old defenseman rejoins coach Ken Hitchcock, who he played for during his rookie campaign in Columbus. Nikitin has not recorded a point in seven contests with the Blues this season. The 25-year-old Russian was a healthy scratch in eight of the last nine games for St. Louis.
