Thursday was a very strange day for Philadelphia sports.  Things started out on the wrong foot, but then quickly turned to the right foot...then went sour again. The Flyers won their first game of the 2013 season on Thursday night at the Wells Fargo Center.  The orange and black defeated their rivals, and team they haven't beaten in their last 8 meetings, the New York Rangers. (The Orange Update) Thursday wasn't all peaches and cream for the Flyers on Thursday, as news came out of Scott Hartnell foot injury.  Hartnell was listed as "out indefinitely" to now being out 4-8 weeks with a broken big toe. (Buzz on Broad) To fill the void, for now at least, the Flyers will officially announce the signing of former Flyer, Mike Knuble. (Broad Street Hockey) Jrue Holiday has been selected to his first NBA All-Star game.  Holiday made the reserve lineup for the Eastern Conference. (Liberty Ballers) The Eagles remain busy as they are looking to bring two new coaches on to Chip Kelly's staff. (CSN Philly) In case you missed it yesterday, the Braves have acquired Justin Upton. (Talking Chop) Tye McGinn, rookie call up for the Flyers, participated in his first NHL fight on Thursday night. McGinn certainly did not dissappoint. Video after the jump:
