PLAYERS: Tyler Seguin
TEAMS: Dallas Stars
After a blockbuster trade over the off-season between the Boston Bruins and the Dallas Stars, Tyler Seguin and Rich Peverley return to Boston for the first time since being traded to the Dallas Stars. This time the two were on the visitors bench, and were greeted by boos instead of the cheers that they have been used to from this crowd. Seguin may have been greeted by a few more boos than Peverley was, I might add. Rich Peverley scores the shootout winner in his return back to Boston. (USA Today Sports) Regardless of whether the fans disliked the former Boston Bruins, Lindy Ruff (Stars Head Coach) strategically placed Peverley and Seguin in the lineup for the shootout. Seguin scored as the second Stars skater in the shootout to tie up the shootout, ultimately leading to Rich Peverley scoring the game winner in the fourth round of the shootout. The two former Bruins players both scoring in the shootout to win the game may have seemed like the perfect script in their mind, yet the biggest slap in the face to the fans of the Bruins. Aside from the homecoming for Seguin and Peverley, this game had a lot to keep fans enthused. As expected when traveling to Boston, the Dallas Stars were faced against a very physical opponent. Dallas was out-hit 27-21 by the Bruins. Vernon Fiddler was one of the Dallas players who was pushed around throughout the game by the Bruins. Fiddler started the game with a four minute penalty for roughing in the first period. After managing to be in the middle of several fisticuffs, Fiddler scored with 2:34 remaining in the third period. The goal was the result of Fiddler being tripped by Dennis Seidenberg, awarding Fiddler a penalty shot. Being 1 for 1 in penalty shots in his career prior to this game, Fiddler remained at 100% as he moved to 2 for 2 in his career for penalty shots after netting his shot. Noteables: Former Star, Reilly Smith had an assist on the first goal for the Bruins, while other former Stars player Loui Eriksson remained pointless.

A Motivated Tyler Seguin Visits Boston Tomorrow

from Michael Grange of Sportsnet, Tyler Seguin will always consider Boston as something more than just another NHL city, but the question is:  How will his first NHL city will come to think of him? As the prodigal party boy the Bruins were better off cutting ties with while the cutting was good? Or as the latest elite NHL talent the Bruins cut adrift only to watch star...

Tyler Seguin returns to Boston as Bruins fans freak the ‘eff out

November 5th was circled on the calendar as soon as the NHL schedule was released. It marked the day that former Bruin Tyler Seguin would return to Boston to face the Bruins. Questions were raised over how the fan base would greet the former right-wing. Some said that he should be booed because his alleged off the ice actions in addition to his poor on-ice play in the 2013 playoffs...

Boston Bruins: Tyler Seguin returns to Boston as a Dallas Star

He was supposed to be the future of the Boston Bruins’ offence. Ty Anderson: Boos or cheers for Seguin in return to Boston?

Forward Tyler Seguin was the future of the Boston Bruins. Drafted by the Bruins with the second overall pick in 2010, there was no denying the then 18-year-old’s standing as the face of tomorrow’s Bruins. When Zdeno Chara and Patrice Bergeron called it a career and retired as Bruins, the ultra-talented Seguin would be there to step into the club’s vacated spotlight...

Tyler Seguin returns to Boston: Did Bruins give up on him too soon?

When Tyler Seguin steps onto the ice at TD Garden Tuesday night in Boston, it will be not only as an opponent, but as the once future face of the Bruins. Though he played only three seasons in Boston, the current Dallas Stars center will forever be linked to the Bruins probably one of two ways. It could either be as the underachiever the Bruins were right about or the superstar...

Peter Chiarelli Admits’ Bruins’ Style Hard to Play, But Also Says B’s Need to Be Better in Midst of Slump

The Bruins’ style of play isn’t easy, and it isn’t for everyone. That much was on display in more ways than one on Tuesday night at TD Garden. Tyler Seguin made his return to Boston on Tuesday night for the first time since being traded to Dallas in the offseason. As we’ve come to find since, there were some in the Boston front office who felt Seguin couldn’t play the B’s...

Tyler Seguin returns to Boston as the Bruins take on the Dallas Stars

For the first time in his young career, Tyler Seguin will take the ice Tuesday night at Boston’s TD Garden as a visiting player. Just three years after making him the 2nd-overall pick in the 2010 draft, the Bruins traded the enormously-talented-but-equally-immature Seguin, along with Rich Peverley and Ryan Button to the Dallas Stars on July 4. In the NESN documentary series about...

Lindy Ruff Calls Out Tyler Seguin for Faceoff Struggles, Says Center’s ‘Compete’ Has to Be Stronger

The Dallas Stars acquired Tyler Seguin in July with the thought of putting him at center. They acquired him with hopes that he would develop into a first-line center that they could build around. They acquired him hoping he’d be what everyone thought he’d be when the Bruins made him the second-overall pick in 2010. Seguin has been fantastic for the Stars since they got him in...

Bruins, Rangers Combine for Monumental Trade Sending Phil Esposito to Rangers on Throwback Thursday (Video)

The Bruins welcomed back a superstar on Tuesday night, as Tyler Seguin returned to the Garden for the first time since being traded to the Stars. Seguin was shipped to Dallas over the summer, and while the unceremonious departure led to a blockbuster seven-player trade, it was far from the first time the B’s traded away one of their cornerstones. From Joe Thornton to Phil Kessel...

Bruins vs Stars: keys to the game

Tyler Seguin is back in town but this time he's in a Dallas Stars jersey. The Bruins parted with Seguin in the offseason much to the dissapointment of pink hats and teen girls everywhere.Lindy Ruff is the Stars head coach, a coach even more defensively minded than Julien. Despite that, Seguin has been tearing it up with his new team. Seguin has 6 goals and 9 assists in just 13...

Ty Anderson: Seguin, Peverley sink Bruins in awkward return

Five months ago, every Bruins fan you know was giving reasons one through ten as to why the Phil Kessel trade was a clear cut victory for the Black-and-Gold. These reasons, which varied from logical to inane to borderline psychotic, revolved largely (nearly 100 percent, actually) around the talent level of one Tyler Seguin. Drafted by the Bruins with the second overall pick in 2010...

Bruins-Stars Live: Tyler Seguin Returns to Boston As B’s Look to Get Back On Track Against Dallas

8 a.m.: Tuesday night will mark the return of Tyler Seguin to Boston, but if the Bruins are paying any attention to that, they’re in more trouble than we might think. Seguin will be back in Boston on Tuesday night for the first time since being traded to Dallas over the summer, but the B’s cannot worry about that. They are coming off their worst showing of the season in a 3-1...

Vote: Which Traded First-Round Draft Pick Will Have the Best NHL Career?

For the first time in his career, Tyler Seguin will take the ice at TD Garden wearing a jersey that doesn’t sport a Spoked-B. The former first-round draft pick, who was once viewed as the cornerstone of the franchise, was sent packing to Dallas over the summer after just three seasons with the B’s. Seguin now joins the likes of Phil Kessel and Joe Thornton, rounding out the group...

Berkshire Bank Faceoff: Loui Eriksson to Return to Bruins Lineup, Tyler Seguin Makes Return to Boston

That’s where Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and the Dallas Stars will make their way to Boston, the first time those two have skated at the Garden since they were traded to Dallas...
