from Aaron Portzline of Puck-Rakers, An otherwise joyous night for the Blue Jackets was tempered by a serious injury to one of the club's most inspiring player. Right winger Derek Dorsett suffered a fractured clavicle at 1:36 of the first period, when he was driven into the net by Vancouver's Andrew Alberts. The club announced after the game that he's likely to miss the rest of the season. It's a big blow for the Blue Jackets. Dorsett has three goals, six assists and 53 penalty minutes in 24 games. Last season, he had 12 goals, 20 points and 235 penalty minutes -- all career highs. a bit more and if you watch the video below (game highlights, injury is at the start), I think Dorsett suffered the injury from the hit by Alberts.  Going into the net did not seem that bad but you can decide. Foligno sees the value in visors

I know its a personal choice, but for me it was an easy one. I wanted to save my eyes; thats pretty much it. That was Columbus Blue Jackets winger Nick Foligno, explaining in the simplest terms his choice to wear a visor when he plays hockey. For him, its all about trying to avoid a catastrophic eye injury that in most cases is avoidable if a visor is worn. My eyes are something...

COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) -- Sergei Bobrovsky had 29 saves in his first career shutout, and Cam Atkinson and Nick Foligno took advantage of Detroit giveaways to score goals in leading the suddenly hot Columbus Blue Jackets to a 3-0 victory over the Red Wings on Saturday. Glen Miller: Columbus Streaking: Jackets Win Consecutive Games For 1st Time This Year

It only took 23 games this season but for the first time all year the Columbus Blue Jackets are finally winners of consecutive games following their 4 – 3 shootout victory over the Oilers. Things weren’t looking too positive after Steve Mason allowed three Oilers goals on eight shots in just more than 20 minutes but Sergei Bobrovsky was excellent in relief. Bobrovsky...

Glen Miller: Columbus Continues To Earn Respect, Beats Canucks

Barring a surprising turn of events the Columbus Blue Jackets won’t be making the postseason again this spring. They likely won’t even bring their record up to the .500 level. That being said, with each and every game they play, the Jackets are earning more respect around the league with their hard work, resiliance and tenacity. The Jackets earned some more respect...

ICYMI Canucks lose to the Columbus Blue Jackets #fireav

AV…duck, the pitchforks are out! The purpose of hockey is to win and the Canucks haven’t been taking two points away from games lately. An overtime loss to Columbus combined with their recent string of efforts is enough to make this quite level-headed Canucks fan thoughtfully finger the panic button. Perhaps the window is closing, perhaps they’re merely the latest reincarnation...

Red Wings-Blue Jackets Preview

The Detroit Red Wings are starting to play better. Surprisingly, so are the Columbus Blue Jackets. The Blue Jackets have won a season-high three straight and have enjoyed success this season against the Red Wings heading into Saturday's matchup in Columbus. These Central Division rivals complete their season series this weekend with a home-and-home set, with Sunday's rematch...

GDT - Game 25: Red Wings (12-8-4) at Blue Jackets (8-12-4) 2:00

Half way there, and DET are sitting in 4th. After the start to this season, who'd a thunk it?  That is the good news anyways.  In the crosstown traffic that is the WC, the Wings are only 4 points from 11th position. The problematic bit is that DET are the road warrior the rest of the month;  8 road games versus just 3 at home.  April is a little better, 7 road, 6 at JLA. ...

Wings/Blue Jackets Recap

George picked a good day to deal with a computer issue with his new laptop so you have me with this recap. I am going to make like Mike Babcock during his first period timeout and say nothing. That's it, I have nothing to say about this game but on the other hand you may have a lot to talk about, so the floor is yours.
