The Detroit Red Wings have travelled to Calgary to play the Flames countless times throughout the years, but this particular game will be remembered in the hearts of both teams’ fans for a long time. The hockey was tough and even, and for Wings fans, got the post-All-Star break season started off on the right foot. The game, however, will be remembered for the memory of a good friend rather than the solid play.
The Flames picked this night to honor Brad McCrimmon, a former player and assistant coach for both teams. Red Wings mid-day mish-mash: questions, trade climatology, co-MVP’s, Happy Hudler and more McCrimmon
The Canucks are practicing right now in Vancouver, and the Red Wings won’t even hit the ice until 3 or 3:30 PM EST, so we’re looking at some very late-afternoon off-day updates, but that’s no excuse for sitting on Wings news till this evening for the sake of comprehensiveness’s sake.

Red Wings vs Canucks Recap 2.2.2012
Another game, another two points. I'd say Detroit played a solid 53 minutes in regulation, then dominated the OT. It was just enough. Hopefully that bonus point to Vancouver doesn't come back to haunt us.Jump for an actual recap
