With the Red Wings’ season now officially ended, NHLHS Correspondent Christina Roberts looks at what this 2010-2011 team accomplished and what may be next.
Sometimes it’s best not to look at the numbers.
In the 2009 Stanley Cup Finals versus the Pittsburgh Penguins, Game Seven was at the Detroit Red Wings’ Joe Louis Arena. Red Wings fans clung to their numbers, spouting things like Chris Osgood‘s goals-against average and save percentage so far in the Finals, how Pittsburgh certainly couldn’t win three of the four last games of the series, and how the Wings had outscored the Penguins 11-2 so far at the Joe.
And look at what happened, with everything pointing in the Red Wings’ favor.
