As the NHL lockout drags on with no end in sight, many players have elected to take their services elsewhere and continue to play hockey. Many Detroit Red Wings have gone that route and are now playing outside the NHL. By my count (and the information isn’t as easy to find as you would think) 12 Red Wings are currently playing hockey.  Of those 12, three are leading their team in points. But they aren’t the three players you have in mind.  Star players Pavel Datsyuk and Henrik Zetterberg are playing well, but neither lead their respective teams.  The team leaders are Damien Brunner, Gustav Nyquist, and Jan Mursak. Now, the talent level these guys are facing isn’t near what they would be seeing in NHL action, but it’s good to see them playing at a high level, regardless of who it’s against.
