The New Jersey Devils have recalled defenseman Peter Harrold from Albany of the AHL.
Devils chief executive Lou Lamoriello announced the move on Monday, a day after defenseman Anton Volchenkov missed a game against Pittsburgh with a lower body injury. Harrold has appeared in five games with New Jersey this season.
The Devils also announced that University of Michigan center David Wohlberg will sign an amateur tryout contract and be added to Albany's roster. The sixth-round draft pick in 2008 had 16 goals in his final season in college.

Rich Chere at the Newark Star-Ledger reports that Devils GM Lou Lamoriello has spoken to Zach Parise’s agents regarding a new contract, but most expect the New Jersey's captain to test the market as an unrestricted free agent this summer.Chere adds that the Rangers are a "definite possibility" for landing Parise and that, for the Devils, losing thier captain to...
Marty made his NHL debut 20 years ago today. That's right, on March 26, 1992 the Devils gave unknown goalie, Martin Brodeur his first start in the NHL. Chris Terreri and Craig Billington were hurt and the Devils had gone with Chad Erickson in net and Doug Dadswell as the backup in the prior game. Brodeur showed up at the rink for the game to find that while he was 5th on the...
Martin Brodeur stole a game from the Chicago Blackhawks with a little unexpected help from Adam Henrique and a surprise participant for the New Jersey Devils in the shootout -- Travis Zajac.
Zajac, who returned to the lineup Sunday after missing 37 games with an Achilles injury, scored the game-deciding goal, and Brodeur made 37 saves and stopped four of five in the shootout to...
Travis Zajac and Patrik Elias scored in a shootout and Martin Brodeur made 37 saves and stopped four of five shooters to give the New Jersey Devils a 2-1 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday night.
Brodeur made a sprawling stop on Andrew Shaw to end the contest and snap a two-game winless slide for New Jersey, which now has a four-point lead on Ottawa in the race for sixth...
After a devastating shootout loss at home to Toronto, the New Jersey Devils looked to start fresh and create a late-season win streak, starting in Pittsburgh against a tough Penguins team. The return of center Travis Zajac boosted some motivation (as his presence was dearly missed). Unfortunately though, once again, the Devils did not find an answer to the Penguins offense and...
Pens played a response game against New Jersey tonight. If ever there was a seed of doubt, we buried it and willed it to be a mother ******* olive tree or something equally elegant.
The Sens are trash, the Devils are almost just as bad. Pens need to play well against any team, obviously, but it's somehow more important when they're in your division, when they're making...
After dropping their last two, and the Senators closing in on 6th place in the Eastern Conference Playoff picture, a game against the Blackhawks tonight would be a VITAL two point outing. New Jersey's magic number entering play tonight is 6. By night's end, REGARDLESS of a win or loss for NJ, the Dev's magic number would eventually be 5 due to a matchup between the 8th...

Last night the New Jersey Devils fell 5-2 to the Pittsburgh Penguins for the second time in an eight day span. Here are some notes on the game, as well as what Devils Head Coach Pete DeBoer hopes to accomplish before the playoffs begin.
- Last night was by no means a good night for the Devils, but it was even worse for David Clarkson. Clarkson was minus-3 and 0-for-8 in the face...
The New Jersey Devils and Chicago Blackhawks are in sixth place in their respective conferences, which seemingly sets up favorable first-round playoff matchups.
Neither team wants to look too far ahead, however, as they're simply focused on building momentum heading into the postseason.
The Devils try to break out of their recent funk Tuesday night when they host a Blackhawks...
