The Devils face off against the Minnesota Wild in Newark tonight which looks to be the easiest game the Devils will have this week. Of course, no game is easy this season but considering the Devils have the Flyers Thursday and Saturday and the Lightning on Sunday, they might want to win this one.
Brian Rolston and Mark Fraser will be back in the lineup as a result of some coaching decisions that have me scratching my head violently. Because of Fraser’s return, Mark Fayne has been sent down. Fayne has two goals on the season and has been looking better and better every game. Rolston being inserted into the lineup is also something that is not going to help this team. If Jacques was right and Rolston was not in shape and wasn’t going to play until he was fit, maybe we’ll see a faster Rolston tonight. That isn’t going to make this perfect because Rolston still has to get better with board battles, passing, shot accuracy, and forcheck to name a few things. Fraser is sure to take a bad penalty or two per game. It seems that the only reason that he is up in the NHL is because the Devils would risk losing him to waivers if they were to send him down. This part of his contract was what he fought for over the summer in what almost led to an arbitration case. Who will sit tonight still remains a secret. The fact that Rolston is even in the lineup could be the Devils’ way of showcasing him to other teams showing that he has something left in the tank in case they put in on waivers again. I believe he is certainly beyond the point of being able to contribute to the Devils in any way.
The main key to tonight’s game is going to be the first five minutes. Too many times this year the Devils have fallen behind by at least a goal in the first few minutes of the game and it deflates the team for the whole game. The Devils performances against the Rangers and Thrashers last week were two of the best that they have had all year and it was because they scored the first goal and played sound defense. They have to come out flying.

I have been throwing out the idea of starting a weekly podcast for this site and I think I am going to do it. I got some positive feedback that made me want to do it. So here’s the deal.
At least once per week (probably Saturdays) I will record a session. I will cover the Devils, the NHL and maybe some other things like Juventus, Serie A, and the Barclays Premier League in small quantities. I will then proof-listen and fix it up and post it on the site. It won’t be live but it will be a same-day type ordeal. I will obviously host it. I am open to having guests on every episode. Those people would have to be present at my office or house to record it with me. We’ll have an agenda for each show and I would take up to two guests per show. I already have a few inquiries as far as guests go so keep them coming! I will also try to interact with people using Facebook and Twitter by taking questions and answering them on the show.
The first recording will hopefully take place this Saturday so send me your questions!

Include your name, location, and question.
If we can make this fun and get some listeners, I will keep doing it and hopefully start adding some contests and fan interaction. My hope is to eventually have a live show but I need the support of all you guys first!
Thanks for reading. Get in touch with me on Twitter, Facebook, or e-mail and we’ll make this happen!
