The New Jersey Devils are planning to honor former defenseman Karel Rachunek, prospect Alexander Vasyunov and the other victims of the Lokomotiv Yaroslavl plane crash, according to a tweet from New Jersey Devils beat writer Tom Gulitti.
The ceremony will take place sometime before the start of the season. I will post an update as information becomes available.
Vasyunov left the Devils and re-joined Lokomotiv earlier in the summer, signing a one year deal. He played 43 games with the team from 2005-2009.
Rachunek played with Lokomotiv last season after player the previous two seasons with Dynamo Moscow. He played one season for the Devils in 2007-08.
