The NHL decided not to suspend Dion Phaneuf for this hit on Buffalo Sabres defenseman Zach Kassian. Going forward I am surprised that Phaneuf wasn't given at least a game, because I think this is a hit that the league has to take out of the game hockey, this is a dangerous unnecessary hit.

Flicker the Flaming Horse
As the Flames march down the trail of indifference, it’s nice to know they have the ability to be “in” every game. The Flames showed a little spunk tonight with a come from behind 5-4 overtime loss against the very pedestrian T.B. Lightning. The effort included Jarome’s 496th career snipe as well as Matt Stajan’s 1st of the year. Oh indeed the Dion Phaneuf...
